Research internship: value chain field study – Origin for Sustainability Association

Desired profile

  • Master level
  • Good command of French and English (Spanish optional)
  • Good research skills
  • Competencies in statistics (experience in R or STATA would be appreciated)

Presentation

Origin for Sustainability aims to promote a community of knowledge and practice, bringing together a wide range of actors from all over the world (territorial actors, academics, politicians, researchers, etc.), all committed to new ways of thinking and doing development, where identity, quality and biological and cultural diversities are catalysts for inclusive and participative dynamics of territorial development.

Through various European and international projects, O4S is involved in and participates in various research projects that aim to co-construct and capitalise on the knowledge associated with product and territorial differentiation tools.

Tasks and responsibilities

As part of its commitment to various international projects, O4S is looking to recruit an intern to support its collaborative research work with FAO and other partners.

The objective of the assignment will be to carry out a commodity chain (cheese) study using existing assessment tools made available by FAO.

The mission will include the following tasks

  • Bibliographic study
  • Field surveys with the actors of the study sector
  • Quantitative and qualitative data collection
  • Data computing and analysis
  • Synthesis and restitution of results
  • Participation in team meetings

Conditions

Duration

  • A period of 6 months between January and June
  • Part-time internship for students working in parallel on their thesis (17.5 hours/week).

Location

Crest, Drôme (France) or at a distance. Travel to the study sites is required.

Allowances

  • According to the French legislation for internship’s conditions
