The ODT Forum 2022 explores the territories’ responses to the climate crisis
The 2022 edition of the Origin, Diversity and Territories Forum will take place on 19, 20 and 21 October 2022 in Saignelégier, (Jura, Switzerland) on the theme “What strategies for the sustainability of localised agri-food systems in the face of the climate crisis?”.
The Forum will consist of a combination of conferences, workshops and field visits in the Saignelégier region and in neighbouring France. Since the 2020 edition, all activities are carried out on-site and online thanks to pre-recorded videos and online transmissions. Click here to access the full programme of the ODT 2022 Forum.
Five workshops to enter the discussion
The food system is studied at the scale of territories, looking for innovative proposals to respond to the plurality of current crises, through exchanges organised in five parallel workshops:
- Roles, impacts and responses of differentiation approach in a context of climate change.
- Assets and vulnerabilities of mountain regions – governance approaches, innovations and adaptation strategies for the sustainable management of territories
- Territorial approach of the OneHealth vision, its challenges and perspectives.
- Autonomy, sovereignty and reduction of food dependencies
- Climate policies at the territorial level
Participants
A large number of participants is expected. The average participation in previous years’ Forums has been over 250 participants both on-site and online, with a strong international presence and representatives from 5 continents and over 35 different countries.
This year, the International Mountain Conference, organised on Wednesday 19 October, will be an opportunity to connect the host region with a group of experts from all over the world to discuss the issue of climate change in the particular context of mountains. The Swiss Jura is a region that finds its strength in its local dynamism, its dreamy landscapes, and its innovations in both crafts and food production. The Tête-de-Moine PDO cheese, for example, is a guarantee of quality for the region, which highlights the natural resources and traditional values of the Jura.
Because of these assets, the Canton of Jura is a real Living Lab for analysing innovative responses in favour of the ecological transition of the territories.
