Forum Origin, Diversity and Territories 2026

The Forum on Origin, Diversity & Territories (Forum ODT) 2026 will be held in Besançon on 1, 2 and 3 December 2026. It will focus on the long-term viability of Geographical Indications (GIs), such as Protected Designations of Origin (PDOs) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGIs) and, more broadly, of territorialised agri-food systems, in a context marked by profound climatic, economic, environmental and societal transitions. Sustainability is understood here in its broadest sense — economic, social, environmental and governance — and not solely in its environmental dimension.

The thematic workshops of Forum ODT 2026 bring together researchers, producers and territorial actors around the key issues of sustainability and long-term viability of Geographical Indications. Each workshop combines conceptual contributions, case studies and participatory methods.

🔹 Workshop 2 — GIs and market dynamics: between commercial valorisation and supply chain sustainability
🔹 Workshop 3 — Innovation and revision of specifications: governance, experimentation and agroecological transitions
🔹 Workshop 4 — Small and large GIs facing the costs of sustainability: structural inequalities and territorial solidarities

Forum ODT 2026 invites researchers, practitioners and territorial actors to submit contributions related to the thematic workshops. Abstracts are accepted in French, English and Spanish.
