The 2020 forum will take place at Valposchiavo, Grisons, Suisse
Valposchiavo, about 250 km2 and 5,000 inhabitants, is an Italian-speaking valley in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland, perpendicular to the large Valtellina valley in Italy, where almost 100% of its production is certified organic. The difference in altitude, nearly 2,000m between the north and south of the valley, allows this valley to benefit from a variety of climates and allows a very wide diversity of production. From the alpine pastures for the production of meat and cheese at high altitude, to the small fruits near the Italian border, to the production of buckwheat, hay and aromatic herbs in the municipality of Poschiavo, this valley has many assets!
Thanks to this diversity of production, Valposchiavo has been able to launch a territorial development project around local food: the 100% Val Poschiavo. This project, which links all the actors of the food system, allows the territory to be resilient and sustainable while promoting its assets for the economic development of the valley in harmony with its environment.
