Calendar of events 2022
Annually, Origin for Sustainability organises a range of events to develop and share interrelated themes such as cultural diversity, products with origin-linked qualities, territories and rural communities and their empowerment.
International Mountain Conference

The objective of this conference is to take a global look at the functioning of localized agri-food systems and the innovative approaches developed by mountain communities in response to the climate crisis.
It is an opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange with practitioners, decision makers, experts, researchers, international organisations, but also local actors and bearers of innovative initiatives. It is also an opportunity to discover the landscapes and rural communities of the Jura mountains through meetings with local actors.
The International Mountain Conference will open this year’s Origin, Diversity and Territories Forum (19, 20, and 21 October), with field visits in the morning and debates in the afternoon with local actors, scientists, the Tête de Moine PDO sector and the Swiss and Jura authorities.
Next, the ODT Forum participants will be able to explore how mountain territories act for the climate, focusing mainly, but not exclusively, on mountain territories and their agri-food chains, thanks also to the involvement of its partners (academics, politicians and local actors) of the European project MOVING H2020.

The Origin, Diversity and Territories Forum is an international platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge on new ways of thinking about the development of rural territories, the interactions between cultural and biological diversity and products whose quality is linked to their origin.
The aim of the Forum is to be a link between a wide range of international actors, all committed to new ways of thinking and doing development, where identity, origin, quality and local diversities are catalysts for inclusive local development dynamics.

The session will discuss approaches to the evaluation of the notions of agroecology, nature-based solutions, sustainability, and ecosystem restoration in several contexts, international and European, but also African, and will present an example of evaluation of agroecological practices in Bhutan.
It will also be an opportunity to present the AniTerrAE project funded by the Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG) and carried out by FAO in collaboration with the ODT, and to encourage participants to share their approaches, tools, and results during future editions of the ODT Forum on this theme.
